Mock drafts point to Warren, Jeanty, Banks ...

About the only thing the Bears know for sure about the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night is that they'll have options — by their design after an active free agency window, but also because they're in a bit of a dead zone — on paper — at No. 10. It's not surprise that mock drafts have them both moving up and down to get their guy.
A perusal of 70 mock drafts indicates just how many options — and big decisions — they'll have Thursday night. The leading choices are Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (18), Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (15) and Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks (14). After that, it's Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham (5) and Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams (5), followed by Michigan tight end Colston Loveland (3), Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou (2), LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell (2), Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart, North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton (1), Georgia edge rusher Jalon Walker (1), Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (1) and Marshall edge rusher Mike Green (1).
The tricky part of Bears general manager Ryan Poles and his personnel staff will be judging what they can get with the Nos. 39 and 41 picks in the second round of a draft that on paper is deep at just about every position but quarterback. Just how special is Jeanty? Unless somebody drops unexpectedly to No. 10, there's likely to be another player fairly close in quality in the second round — perhaps a little higher than 39/41. The possible exception is Warren, a tight end who seems tailor-made for Ben Johnson. That's probably why he appears to be most logical choice at No. 10.
Jeanty was the most intriguing player in the mock drafts. Some had the Bears moving up to No. 5 (in front of the Raiders) to get him. Others, a bit surprisingly, have him dropping to the Bears at No. 10, which is not expected to happen. But you never know on draft night.

Here's a look at the mock drafts I used for this analysis. And if you don't like these 68 mock drafts, there's 68 more you can find to provide further context on where the Bears stand heading into what figures to be an exciting night for Poles and the Bears war room.
